Music Icon David Foster Controversy

American Idol 2006, runner up, Katharine McPhee and Music Producer David Foster are headed to the altar.

Although many are happy about the June engagement announcement, it comes as no surprise, the social media haters are lashing out at McPhee because of the 34-year-old age difference between the two.

Music Icon Romantically Linked to Katharine McPhee

McPhee and Foster were first romantically linked last year. Despite rumors, they managed to keep their “love connection” on the down until recently.

David Foster, an iconic songwriter-composer with plenty of experience at the altar…has been married four times — most recently to Yolanda Hadid, whom he separated from last year. McPhee was married for eight years to Nick Cokas. On May 22, 2014, McPhee’s representative announced that McPhee had filed for divorce from Cokas, after “having been separated for the past year.” News of their split came seven months after McPhee was photographed kissing her married Smash director, Michael Morris. Her divorce from Cokas was finalized on February 8, 2016. Foster playing the piano at McPhee’s first wedding re-surfaced online after their engagement. [READ MORE HERE]

David Foster Quotes

“Every single day I wake up, I try to do my very best. I give 100-per-cent, and absolutely 100-per-cent love what I do every day. I’ve been doing this for forty years. I’m obsessed with what I do, and I just love it.”

“I’m probably wouldn’t do anything differently if I had to do it again. Every little thing that happens to you, good and bad, becomes a little piece of the puzzle of who you become. Every successful person you read about – Warren Buffett, Bill Gates – they all say pretty much the same thing. ‘Do what you love’. I know I did.”

“The fact of the matter is I’ve been slagged my whole life for doing so-called pussy music – you know, like people say the reason I don’t go into elevators is because I’m afraid to hear my own music. That’s actually not the truth, but when I lay my hands on the piano what comes out is what comes out.”

[on first hearing Celine Dion] “It was, to say the least, a magical moment – one of those moments you remember forever. She was up there belting out Top 40 songs, and she didn’t even know what she was saying. She didn’t speak hardly any English at all at that point. I couldn’t see anyone else around me. I couldn’t hear anyone else around me.
I was mesmerized. I mean, that’s once in a generation. A talent like that. I knew, one-hundred percent, she was going to be a superstar.”
