Divers Remove Four More Boys Trapped in a Chiang Rai, Thailand Cave

Thailand Cave Rescue

Divers have rescued four more of the 12 Thailand soccer players who have been trapped 2.5 miles inside a cave for more than two weeks.

Four remain trapped in the cave along with their 25-year-old coach Ekapol Chanthawong.

The Rescue efforts have been paused so that divers involved in the efforts can rest and the tanks and equipment can be replenished.

If all goes as planned divers will resume efforts to safely removed the remaining five out of the flooded cave on Tuesday.

All those who have been rescued, were taken to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital where they are in a quarantine unit where they are being monitored and treated.

The boys, ages 11-16, and their 25-year-old coach became stranded when they went exploring inside after a practice game. Monsoon flooding blocked off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for almost 10 days.

The rescue: Each of the boys wears a dive mask as they enter the murky water. The children can barely see anything in front of them. They are led by a diver who is carrying their oxygen tank and guided by a rope. Another diver follows them from behind.
